Product Sourcing / Manufacturing Facility Planning and Design
Product sourcing strategies and entire manufacturing facility designs have been provided for a number of companies. These include developing and evaluating product sourcing strategies and moving the selected strategy through funding to implementation. Contributions have included establishing sourcing agreements, detail design and layout of manufacturing operations; selection, location and placement of equipment and manufacturing support functions. The focus is on integrating business unit performance (ROA, profitability, sales) with manufacturing performance (quality, customer service, lead times, etc.) Specific emphasis on elements of infrastructure that improve the capability of the work force has proven a powerful tool for improvement.
